How Pawnbroking Works

If you're new to pawn services, here's a simple overview of how it works at Cash Trader:

Pawning an Item

  1. Bring in your item: Visit our shop with the item you wish to pawn (tools, electronics, jewelry, etc.).
  2. Get an assessment: We'll evaluate the item and offer you a fair loan amount based on its condition and market value.
  3. Receive cash: If you accept the offer, you'll receive cash immediately and a pawn ticket with clear terms.
  4. Repay to reclaim: Within the agreed timeframe, repay the loan plus the agreed interest to get your item back.
  5. Or extend: If you need more time, we can discuss extension options.

If you don't reclaim your item within the agreed period, it may be sold to recover the loan. However, we always work with customers to find solutions that respect both parties.

Buying or Selling

If you prefer not to pawn, we also buy goods outright or sell quality pre-owned items. Stop by to see what's available or to get a quote on items you'd like to sell.

Note: All pawnbroking transactions are conducted in full compliance with the National Credit Act and related South African consumer protection regulations. Terms are transparent, and customer privacy is respected at all times.
